I’d like to publish my project roadmap, but I can’t turn it on without a way to exclude certain issues.

Views support filters. Publishing only works on projects, and has none. That gap is the whole problem.

I went through my backlog to see how bad it is: 49 of 229 issues can’t be public. Security-sensitive tickets, unreleased pricing, vendor and contract detail, and anything naming a person. I’ve labeled every one of them, and the label does nothing, because there’s no way to tell a published project to skip them.

Excluding by label would be enough on its own – mine are private, infra, ci-cd and appstore. Include or exclude by module would work too. A custom PQL statement would be better than either, since PQL already does exactly this against the API.

As it stands the feature is all-or-nothing, and that means off.

Thanks for the detailed write-up @mlilback. You can create a [View](https://docs.plane.so/core-concepts/views#views) with your desired filters and [publish the view](https://docs.plane.so/core-concepts/views#publish-view) instead of the full project. This gives you full control over what’s visible publicly. Hope that helps.

Thanks, that is a better solution for me!

Is there a way to specify the sort order of the group by? I’m using cycles, but I’d like them to show up in release order, not an arbitrary one.
