Whilst posting GitHub integration has several problems, I needed to share a link to issue #9077 I posted on the makeplane/plane/issues issue tracker. However Discourse didn’t allow me to do that, which means that post is substantially less clear and useful than it should be. (The same is true for this one, since I can’t include the direct link to the issue here either.)
Additionally, one of my comments on Full imports of GitHub issues including comments - #5 by parthacus was incorrectly auto-flagged as spam by the system.
Is there a way to reconfigure Discourse so that it doesn’t get in the way of well-intentioned sharing of information, please?
I have restored the comments on that post @aspiers. By default Discourse limits how many links new users can post to prevent spam. We’ll check and see what can do there.
Thanks a lot @dancia. Yes now you mention it, I think I have seen this same limit on other Discourse forums. If the limit automatically vanishes after users establish themselves via normal healthy contributions then I don’t think there’s a big issue here.
Of course it would be nicer if the software was a bit smarter, but I accept that as someone who joins a new Discourse and immediately wades deep into more technical topics which benefit from extra links, I probably don’t fit the profile of a normal contributor (or spam bot
)
